Mr. Wilfong “Bill” McLeod Frazier, Jr., age 98, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Trinity Village in Hickory. Born August 8, 1923 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Wilfong McLeod Frazier, Sr. and Sallie Dysart Frazier.Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.He served during WWII and the Korean War.Bill coached baseball for many years and was inducted into the Caldwell County Sports Hall of Fame.Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.Bill was a lifelong member of St. James Episcopal Church in Lenoir.Bill was deeply devoted to two things, his family and the Marine Corps.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Willodene Frazier; his sister, Mary Jeanette Norwood. Survivors include three children, Mac Frazier (wife Jackie), Scott Frazier (wife Karen) and Sallie Novak (husband Vernon); he is also survived by five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Episcopal Church in Lenoir.Face masks will be required for all who attend.
