Wanda Kaye Dockery

Wanda Kaye Dockery, 71, of Hickory, North Carolina passed away peacefully at her home on February 25, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Kaye was born on January 9, 1951 to the late A V Dockery and Janey Louise Dockery. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Austin “Hoss” Dockery; sister, Patricia Freeman; and brother-in-law, Robert Freeman. Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her daughter, Marsha Dockery Eller and husband Michael of Hickory; brother, Allen Dockery and wife Hollie of Hickory; sister, Annette Setzer and husband Randy of Hudson; sister-in-law, Donna Dockery of Lincolnton GA; Linda Kay Bowman “Aunt Kay” of Granite Falls; her dear friends and caregivers, Elizabeth Duncan and Ann Oakes of Lenoir; numerous wonderful nieces and nephews; and her two cats, Amos and Andy. Kaye was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who was known to offer help to any stranger she met. Kaye enjoyed spending hours working on her beautiful yard and she was an avid reader. She loved hiking the North Carolina mountains as much as she loved sitting by the ocean soaking up the sun with close friends and family. A 2:00PM memorial service to honor Wanda Kaye Dockery will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Living Hope Church in Lenoir with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating.
