Violet Louise Huffman

Mrs. Violet Louise Ritch Huffman, age 71, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born March 25, 1946 in Caldwell County, Violet was a daughter of the late James and Lousia Greene Ritch.She was a member of Oxford Memorial Baptist Church.She was a custodian at the Collettsville School where she enjoyed working with the faculty and getting to see the kids.She enjoyed gardening and quilting.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Huffman; two brothers, Cecil Watson and Kermit Watson; three sisters, Estelle Phillips, Frances Hall and Edith Lackey. Survivors include her sons, Glenn Clark (wife Candy) and Tracy Huffman (wife Kim) both of Lenoir; a sister, Shirley Reeder; a brother, Dennis Ritch; a special friend, Billy Pitts; three grandchildren, Daniel Clark, Erica Ware and Emily Huffman; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Violet’s life will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church, 2850 Old NC 90, Taylorsville, NCwith Pastor Neal Walker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.
