Ruth Clark Reid

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Ruth Clark Reid, age 67, of Brookshire Road, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at her home. Born August 23, 1938 in Avery County, Mrs. Reid was a daughter of the late David and Mary Lee Webb Clark and the wife of the late Rex Russell Reid. She was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Reid is survived by two daughters, Betty Marie Kirby and husband Creig of Collettesville; Regina Walsh of Lenoir; one sister, Faye Anthony and husband Dennis of Pinola; one brother, Thomas Clark and wife Nancy of Lenoir; 4 grandchildren, Gregory Brian Kirby of Washington, DC; Russell Scott Kirby; Dale Russell Walsh and Brittany Marie Walsh all of Lenoir. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Bonnie Church and Dora Johnson and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Kirby. Funeral services for Mrs. Reid will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Long Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Derreberry officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Russell Walsh, Scott Kirby, Greg Kirby, Rick Johnston, Quinn McGee and Hank Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dennis Anthony, Frank Petree, Tom Church and Tommy Clark.
