Ralph Kincaid

Hudson – Ralph Author Kincaid, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare surrounded by how he lived with family, friends, love and laughter. He was born in Caldwell County on December 16, 1935 to the late George Huitt Kincaid and Maude McCreary Kincaid. He was married for 62 years to Alma Coffey Kincaid. Ralph was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hudson for over 40 years where he served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a past President of Hudson Optimist Club and somehow found time to retire from Waldensian Bakeries after 36 years of service. He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends, watching his grandkids play ball and he was known for his practical jokes. Ralph was an avid gardener and his church family benefited from his generosity and “fruits” of his labor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Kincaid, Euless “Tim” Kincaid; sisters, Judy Craig, Katherine Bryant and Drucilla Adams. Other than his wife he is survived by his son, Gregory Kincaid and wife, Gina; daughter, Cynthia Kincaid Peters; brother, Richard Kincaid and wife, Evelyn; grandchildren, Brendon Peters, Taylor Peters, Kameron Kincaid and Corey Kincaid; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Hudson on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Mack Jarvis, Pastor Stuart White and Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Kincaid, Jason Nichols, John Nichols, Ryan Nichols, Alan Coffey, Jeremy Carpenter, Jeff Moffitt and Michael Southard. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Lindsay’s Sunday School Class, Ed Eller, Jay Suddreth and Ben Davis. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 prior to the service.
