Phyllis Howell Woods

Mrs. Phyllis Howell Woods, age 83, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.

Born July 7, 1939 in Mecklenburg County, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Marshall and Cleo Osborne Howell.  Phyllis was a charter member of Green Mountain Baptist Church.  One of her favorite pastimes was watching the Game Show Network especially with her granddaughters.  The thing she enjoyed most in life was spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Granvil Woods; a son in law, Mike Anderson; three sisters, Margaret Blickley, Pansy Scruggs and Polly Edmiston.

Survivors include her children, Sandy Woods Anderson and Danny Woods (wife Cindi);  her granddaughters, Logan Anderson, Heather Everhart (husband Robert) and  Heidi Norwood (husband Deron);  her great grandchildren, Robert Everhart IV, Lexi Laws, Kylie McBride, Caden McLeod and Paris Morgan;  two sisters, Faye Storie and Brenda Yates; three brothers, Walter Howell, Jerry Howell and Herbert Howell;  she is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A gathering of friends celebrating Phyllis’ life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Green Mountain Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Green Mountain Baptist Church at 2077 Piney Grove Circle, Lenoir, NC  28645.
