Mary Ann Charlotte Morrissey

Mary Ann Charlotte Kullak Morrissey, age 85, of Lenoir died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her residence in Lenoir, NC. She was born September 16, 1938 in Bronx County New York, the daughter of the late Frances A. Kullak and Rosina Millacci Kullak. She is preceded in death by her parents, her great granddaughter Madeleine Elizabeth Doleba, and by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence G. Morrissey, BSN, RN.

Mrs. Morrissey graduated from Dominican Commercial Catholic High School, Jamaica Queens, NY and later in life earned a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Mary Ann entered the work force immediately after graduating from high school doing secretarial work in Manhattan, NY.  Later jobs included working as an executive secretary and office manager and finally as a certified nursing assistant caring for the elderly on Long Island.

Mary Ann was an avid reader and home crafter.  Silk flowers, glitter and ribbons were always put to good use.  She enjoyed traveling and was able to see some of her favorite cities throughout the U.S. and abroad traveling with family.  She cherished in-person visits with family and could even manage face time on her iPad with family around the world.

Her surviving children include Monica Ann Morrissey of Pompano Beach FL, Alison Morrissey of Richmond, VA, Kevin Morrissey and husband Marc Longlois and Erin Morrissey of Lenoir and fiancé Robert Johnsen of Catawba, NC, a brother Frank Kullak and wife Mary of Marlborough, MA, Anthony Kullak of Coram, NY, six grandchildren, Philip R. Nannery and wife Deirdre of Cork, Ireland, Mary Cait Nannery-Doleba and husband Chad of Midlothian, VA, Sean Nannery and wife Andrea.  Aidan Nannery, Pierce McCarthy-Beach and husband Patrick of Austin, TX, Matthew Lane Beach and wife Gina of Tacoma, WA., and great-grandchildren-Genevieve, Lawrence, Fiona, Iver, and Emelia.

A visitation will be held at Evans Funeral Service on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.  A funeral mass will be celebrated the following day Saturday November 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi with Fr. Lawrence M. LoMonaco, Celebrant.
