Joanne Bryant Nelson

Joanne Bryant Nelson, age 77, went to be with our Lord on the 6th of January at 10:40 PM at her home in Gamewell. She was the wife of the late RB Nelson of whom she shared 48 years of marriage. She was a born again Christian and member of Celia Creek Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Junie and Onie Bryant, and the second born of nine children. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is also preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly “Bug” Clark and Bula Jean Atkins; and one brother, Floyd Bryant. Joanne was loved and cherished by all her family and will be greatly missed by her daughter Becky Wood(husband Ronnie) and her son, Eric “Rick” Nelson (wife Karen); three brothers, JR Bryant, Pete Bryant and Steve Bryant; two sisters, Linda Martin and Bonnie Nelson; Granny’s warm heart and open arms will never be forgotten by her grandchildren Donnie Wood, Eric “Nick” Nelson (wife Reeva), Josh Nelson (common law wife, Brenda Kimmerly), Joey Wood (common law wife, Kristin Watson), Brandi Nelson Fowler (husband Jonathan); and great grandchildren, Blake, Amadeus, and Kennedy Greene, Gavin and Collin Wood, Cheyenne Fowler, Will Huffman and Kailey Wood; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Joanne’s life will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Celia Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Shew officiating.
