James Ardrus Foster

Granite Falls, NC- Mr. James Audrus Foster, Sr., age 76, of Granite Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his home. Born November 10, 1935 in Madison County, Mr. Foster was a son of the late William and Martha Brown Foster. He was a member of Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church, a retired truck driver and a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He served as a lay minister to nursing homes for 18 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Lee Foster; sisters, Dorothy Bridges and Billie Jean Lail; and his great-grandson, Caleb Hardee. He is survived by his wife Brenda Foster, to whom they had been married 25 years. Other survivors include his children, Penny “Pod” Foster; Cheryl Foster Luckey and husband, Kelly; James Foster, Jr. (Audie) and wife, Angie; David Foster and wife, Sandy; Wendy Foster Turner and husband, Lynn; David Coffey and wife, Kelli; Michelle Coffey Johnston and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Keisha Hardee, Chris Foster, Corey Foster, Tiffany Foster, Danielle Foster, Adam Foster, Justin Luckey, Destiny Coffey, Jennifer Coffey, and Amber Coffey; great-grandchildren, Elijah Hardee, Kadence Hardee, Destiny Foster, Colby Foster, Brooklyn Foster, and Jackson Foster; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend “Bubba”. A celebration of Mr. Foster’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2012 at Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Woody officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Foster, James Foster, Jr., David Foster, Chris Foster, Corey Foster, Brian Price, and Justin Luckey. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 6 until 7:30 PM at Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church.
