Jack Eugene Davis

Lenoir – Mr. Jack Eugene Davis, age 68, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. He was born in Galion, OH on October 28, 1947 to the late EugeneDavis and Naomi Leedy Davis. Mr. Davis was married to Glenda Mills Davis of the residence for 23 years. Mr. Davis was very proud of his 10 years of service with the United States Navy serving on both the U.S.S America and the U.S.S. Independence. He attended Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Davis loved carpentry work and spent much of his life building and remodeling . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John Davis and his stepfather, Raymond White. Other than his wife, he is survived by his step-daughters, Tonya Fox and husband, Bruce of Hickory and Crystal Grindstaff and husband, Eric of Parrish, FL; sister, Sally Dunham and husband, Gary of Mansfield, OH; brother, Jerry Davis and wife, Debbie of Denver, CO; step-sister, Karen Nauman and husband, Dennis of Breckenridge, CO; step-brother, Jeff White; grandchildren, Bryson Fox, Shelby Fox and Lawrence Grindstaff; and many other close family members. A celebration of Mr. Davis’ life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 5:00 PM with Reverend Keith Larned and Reverend Dale Faulkenberry officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at Black Mountain, NC with Military Honors provided by the Caldwell County Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral service from 3:00 to 5:00 prior to the service.
