Gerald Nester

Gerald Nester, 73, of Lenoir passed away on August 8, 2023.

He was born on September 25, 1949 to the late George and Marie Nester.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Stephanie Watts Nester.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Glenn Nester (wife Janet); his wife, Judy Nester; daughters; Lori Marie Haas (husband Scott Haas), Leigh Stilwell (husband Eric Stilwell); step-sons; Mark Absher, and Andrew Absher (wife Raye Lynn); grandchildren; Sophia, Joy, Elijah, Joah, Joshua, Jacob, Gabriel, Neelee, and Kaydee.

Gerald was a man set apart from others, he was one never to mince words, strong physically and mentally, kind and full of love, a family man, business man, disciplinarian, and friend. Gerald was a patriot and he loved his country. He loved cars, racing, sports, hunting, fishing, family time and a “good ole Carolina style hot dog”.  Most importantly he was a servant of the Lord.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Lifepoint Church of God in Hickory with Pastor Matthew Prince officiating.  A receiving of family and friends will be held one hour prior at 2:00 PM at Lifepoint Church of God.
