Franklin Delon Setzer

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Franklin Delon Setzer, age 75, passed away at Caldwell Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Mr. Setzer was born in Caldwell County on April 9, 1935 to the late Marshall and Ida Hartley Setzer. He was married to Doris Setzer for 40 years. He was a retired sergeant from the NC National Guard and he also retired from Walter̢۪s Chrysler with over 20 years of service. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitnel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Sanders and six brothers, Robert, Hubert, Herman, Ernest, Bealer and Claudie Setzer. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son, Ronnie Setzer and wife, Debbie; step-daughter, Kathy Shull and husband, Dale; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Setzer̢۪s life will be held at 2:00 on Friday, February 11, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Whitnel with Reverend Stuart White and Reverend Steve Walsh officiating. Interment will immediately following the service in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
