Lenoir – Esther Moses Bowman, age 91, was born on April 28, 1930 in Burke County to the late Mack and Bessie Moses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bowman, Sr.; daughter, Susan Bowman and son-in-law, Terry Holsclaw. Mrs. Bowman spent her working career in the textile industry. She enjoyed working in her flowers and gardening, always very proud of her large blooming amaryliss plants each year. Her homemade black walnut cookies, date pecan cakes and her pineapple cookies were some of her favorites that she loved to share with her family and friends.Mrs. Bowman was a long-time, active member of Mountain Grove Church where she was involved in many different capacities over the years. Her Sunday School Class was particularly special to her. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne B. Holsclaw and Teresa B. Rader and husband, Jack; sons, Tom Bowman and wife, Pam; and Charles Bowman; grandchildren, Sharon Holsclaw Mitchell and husband, Tracy; Greg Holsclaw and wife, Crystal; Scott Rader and Mark Rader; Ross Bowman and wife, Paula; Chad and Josh Bowman, Ashlee Bowman; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Sierra and Adam Holsclaw; Devon Rader; Mason Lutz and Natalie Lane; Madison Bowman; and great-great- grandchildren, Devon Holsclaw and Skylinn Smith. A Celebration of Mrs. Bowman’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service.
