David Lee Swanson

Lenoir, NC- Mr. David Lee Swanson, age 69 of Lenoir, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at his home. Born February 7, 1941 in Caldwell County, Mr. Swanson was a son of the late Moses Howard and Ollie Fox Swanson. Mr. Swanson was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Singer Furniture, and worked part-time for Kerr Drugs. David was an avid Legion baseball fan and he enjoyed high school girls? basketball. David played baseball and football in high school and was a great supporter of athletics in Caldwell County. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Swanson. He is survived by two brothers, William L. ?Bill? Swanson and wife Nancy; Tony Swanson and wife Janet, all of Lenoir; one niece, Laura S. Diamond of Florida and two nephews, Jon Swanson of Durham and Michael Swanson of Scottsdale, Arizona. A celebration of Mr. Swanson?s life will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010, 11:00 AM, at Cedar Valley United Methodist Church with Reverend Sarah Fouts and Reverend Lynn Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 10:00 until 11:00, at the Cedar Valley United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, 2755 Blue Creek Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
