Dale Carnegie Mcneil

Dale Carnegie McNeil, age 82, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at his daughter’s residence surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born August 31, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late John Albert McNeil and Norma James McNeil.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra McNeil and Norma “Lynn” McNeil Roberts; a grandson, John Franklin Turnmire; brother, James McNeil; sister, Dawn Boyd and his loving dog, Ace.

Survivors include three daughters, Cindy McNeil Turnmire and husband Jeff, Karen McNeil Winebarger and husband Danny, Kim McNeil and wife Lisa McDonald; one sister, Janet Austin; grandchildren, Amber Honaker, Jeffery Turnmire, Amanda Howell, Jennifer Bishop, Eric Winebarger, Morgan Ledford and Spencer McNeil; great-grandchildren, Hayleigh Watson, Alyssa Honaker, Sydney Turnmire, Emma Howell, and Benjamin Turnmire.

Dale worked for many years as a dispatcher at Caldwell Freight Lines and Newton Transportation where he retired 20 years ago.  He was an avid fisherman and loved surf fishing the most.  Dale loved his 5 daughters who adored him.  He loved his dog Ace.  He loved the casinos, scratch off lottery tickets and the Arizona Diamondbacks.  He was a volunteer after his retirement at Koinonia where he later became a resident.

Dale passed peacefully at his daughter’s home with his daughters by his side.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 5:00-6:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service.
