Charles Curtis Moore, went to be with our Heavenly Father on December 29,2023.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was 93 and worked for Broyhill Furniture Industries for 47 years as a computer programmer. He was also a superb watch and clock repair man, and refurbished the clock at the square in downtown Lenoir. He was born in Laurens, SC and moved with his family to Lenoir when he was 5 years old.
Curtis is preceded in death by his son Charles Alan Moore.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years Joanne Parlier Moore, daughter Martha Moore Watts (husband Keith), daughter in law Brenda Andrews Moore, grandchildren Jessica Clark Johnson (husband Chris), Kaitlin Moore Crawford (husband Riley), Jared Alan Moore (wife Taylor) and two great grandchildren Aksel Johnson and Asa Crawford.
Curtis was a lifelong member of College Avenue Baptist Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and choir member. He enjoyed music, singing and served as minister of music at Union Baptist and Yadkin Baptist churches, he loved his Carolina Tarheels and Carolina Panthers, but most of all he loved the Lord and his family. He was a talented golfer and a member at Lenoir Golf Club. He achieved a hole in one twice. He also enjoyed fishing and excelled in woodworking.
Evans Funeral Home will be handling all arrangements and there will be a graveside service at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Lenoir on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Jenny Thompson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks any gifts go to the American Cancer Society, especially St. Jude Children's Hospital.
