Hudson – Ms. Barbara Baker, 70, of Hudson passed away February 24, 2019 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Barbara was born on May 8, 1948 to the late Lowell and Edith Kaylor of Caldwell County. Barbara worked as a secretary at Baker Tire for 10 years. Barbara was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church and served as the Special Needs Sunday School teacher for “The Gang”. Barbara was a delight to be near and was loved by all who met her. Barbara enjoyed all of her customers and was loved by all of those who met her at work. Barbara had a special bond with the police officers of Hudson P.D. and she thought of them all as her children. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother Steve Kaylor and her aunt, Eva McDonald Reichard. Barbara is survived by her sons: Chris Baker (Donna) and Mike Baker both of Hudson. Barbara is survived by her granddaughters: Kristin Baker of Morganton and Lacy Baker of Hudson. Barbara leaves behind a sister Jayne Kent and husband Tom of Pompano Beach, Florida. Barbara is survived by her special cousin, Wilma Mikeal and her nephew, Pastor Jeff Kaylor and wife Kristin; great-nephews, Jaylin and Jackson Kaylor; and great-niece, Kylie Jo. She is survived by her best friend, Connie Moore.Barbara leaves behind her grand-dog, Peanut. There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Evans Funeral Chapel at 3:00 pm; officiated by Pastor Jeff Kaylor. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
