Mrs. Zelma Ford Rader, age 92, of Collettsville passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at her home. Born January 18, 1927 in Avery county, Zelma was a daughter of the late Ninevah and Ila Coffey Ford.Zelma was a graduate of the Collettsville High School class of 1947.She was a member of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church.Zelma retired from Bernhardt Furniture after many years in the textile industry.Zelma also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John C. Rader; brothers, Douglas M. Ford, A.C. Ford, Wilburn Ford, Henry Junior Ford, Tom Greer Ford, Roby Ninevah Ford, Gurnery Ford and Grandon Ford; sisters, Eva May Ford and Rose Ellen Ford Wise. Survivors include three daughters, Eva Harmon, Lisa Wright (husband Randy) and Myra Pistole; a son, John Rader; Sisters, Clara Watson and Agnes Shores; two brothers, David Rudisill Ford and Doc T. Ford; her grandchildren, Ben Pistole (wife Angela), Aleta Moretz (husband Jay), Zackary Weston (wife Heather), Gregory Weston II, John Christopher Rader Weston (wife Courtney), Matthew Rader (wife Carly), Katherine Holt, Zelena Harmon and Chase Wright; her great grandchildren, Dahlia Moretz, Hunter Weston, Zoey Weston, Aiden Weston, Jameson Weston;she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Zelma’s life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Joe Greer officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
