Hudson, NC- Mrs. Zelda Brown Stallings, age 77, of Hudson, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at her home. Born August 20, 1934 in Caldwell County, Zelda was a daughter of the late Pedro and Ethel Brown. Zelda was a member of the Whitnel United Methodist Church. She was self employed and had run a daycare for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family enjoyed listening to her as she told stories to them.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Eugene Stallings; a daughter, Jennifer Bryant; a sister, Juanita Brown Scott; and a grandson, Aaron McRary. Survivor include her daughters and sons in law; Donna and Glen Laws, Robin and Scott McRary, Jane and Darrell Roseman; a son and daughter in law, Tony and Bessie Stallings; a son in law, Jeff Bryant; two brothers, John “Shaver†Brown and Albert Brown; five sisters, Willidean Triplett, Audrey Holden, Carolyn Harris, Diane O’Neil, and Frances Austin; her grandchildren, Chris Jarvis, Wendy Shoemake, Clint Laws, Zachary Anderson, Summer Walker, Autumn Canipe, Winter Walker, Willie Roseman, and Brandy Stallings; her great grandchildren, Connor McRary, Zoey Anderson, Chase Jarvis, Colby Shoemake, Riley Shoemake, Sally Shoemake, Bryson Gilmore, Ayden Gilmore, Gracie Walker, Montana Canipe, and Anthony Canipe; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Zelda’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Whitnel United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM with Pastor Leon Morrow officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.
