Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Wilma Jean Jenkins Williford, age 69, of Lenoir, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born November 12, 1942 in Onslow County, Wilma was a daughter of the late William and Gladys Collins Jenkins. She was Baptist by faith. Wilma was one of those “very special†women who blessed everyone that she came in contact with and dedicated her life to taking care of not only her family, but yours too. She worked at Caldwell Memorial for many years starting out as a unit secretary and working her way to becoming a Registered Nurse at the age of 52! She then took her special skills to Gateway Nursing Center where she blessed each resident as they became part of her family. Her belief and faith in God guided her every action. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Jenkins; one granddaughter, Harley Danielle Williford. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Marvin L. Williford of the home; two daughters, Angela Faith Williford Mills of Lenoir, and Babetta Hope Williford Glasco of Front Royal, VA; a son, Mark G. Williford of Lenoir; one sister and brother in law, Bertie Marie and Gary Smith of Swansboro, NC; six grandchildren, Destiny Faith Williford, James David Mills, Stephen Tyler Mills, Bradley Scott Williford, Justin Wayne Glasco and Nicholas William Glasco. A graveside celebration of Wilma’s life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
