Mrs. Wilma Dean Hawkins Annas, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Wilkes County on August 2, 1930 to the late Benjamin and Hettie Hawkins. Mrs. Annas was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her joy in life was her faith and family. She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Annas; brothers, Perry and Ross Hawkins; sisters, Naomi Beane and Violet Hawkins. Mrs. Annas is survived by her children, Rex Annas; Regina “Jeannie” Annas Libera and husband, Bill; brothers, Grady and Hurley Hawkins; sisters, Zelma Coffey; Eloise Bolick; Vernice Whisnant; and Novella Benfield; grandson, Ben Craig; great-grandchildren, Adair, Annabella and Brynn Craig; and Dawson and Katie Libera; and her beloved dog, Ozzie. A celebration of Mrs. Annas’ life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Brother Alan Carr officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
