Willie Wilcox

Mr. Willie Lee Wilcox, age 81, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation. Born May 21, 1940 in Todd, NC, Willie was a son of the late William Clyde and Gladys Mae Wilcox.Willie was a diesel mechanic by trade.He loved music and was a collector of musical instruments and bicycles.He spent years helping repair bicycles for homeless children.Willie enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Geraldine West, Doris Icenhour and Clyde Allen Wilcox. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Vanderford (husband Tom) and Lisa Hobbs; his siblings, Randy Wilcox (wife Sherry), Dennis Wilcox (wife Betty) and Renee Wilcox Townsend; a granddaughter, Amber Nicole York; a great granddaughter, Chloe Carroll; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Willie’s life will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Living Hope Church at 3:00 PM with Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating.
