Willie Mcdaniel

Mr. Willie Lee McDaniel, Jr., age 82, of Lenoir passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Born November 12, 1938 in Vance County, Willie was a son of the late Willie and Louise McDaniel.Willie retired from Century Furniture after many years of service.Willie enjoyed spending time with horses and keeping his grandsons busy.He used to say that every job needed a good supervisor.Willie loved watching western movies, especially John Wayne films.He will be remembered also for his love of road trips, being a practical joker and for the advice he would give.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Grey McDaniel. Survivors include his wife of 62 ½ years, Jenny Dickerson McDaniel; a daughter, Kathy McDaniel Andrews (husband Gregory); a son, Willie Lee “W.L.” McDaniel, III (wife Tonya); his grandchildren, Taylor McDaniel (wife Mandy), Ethan McDaniel (wife Heather), Adam Andrews; three great grandsons, Gabe, Maddox and Sully Grey; a sister, Francis Roberson; a brother, Thomas McDaniel; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A private memorial service honoring Willie’s life will be held at a later date. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC28645.
