Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Willie Church Clark, 88, of Gateway Nursing Center, formerly of 1509 Underdown Avenue, went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Born June 23, 1922 in Rhodhiss, Mrs. Clark was a daughter of the late Midas John and Cora Winkler Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin Clark; a brother, James Church, sons, Danny Joe, Kenneth David and William Robert Clark; grandson, Kenneth Clark and great-grandson, Ethan Chambers. Mrs. Clark was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was employed as a sewer at Lenoir Chair #3 in excess of 35 years. She is survived by a son, James (Jim) Lorance Clark and wife Rita; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as sisters, Mrs. Mae Cottrell and husband Dorman; Mrs. Julia Proffit and husband Van and Mrs. Betty Poovey and brothers, Mr. Bob Church and wife Joyce and Mr. George Church as well as her many special nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Clark’s life will be held 2:30 Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Joe Parker, Reverend Van Proffit and Reverend Jackie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. Pallbearers will be: Jamie Clark, Jason Clark, Ray McCloud, Terry Melton, Joe Clark and Jeff Church.
