William "Willie" Franklin Lefever

William “Willie” Franklin Lefever, 90, of Hudson, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Willie was born on July 27, 1934, to the late William “Ken” McKinley and Myrtle Lucinda Lefever of Lenoir, NC. Willie was preceded in death by his siblings Charles Lefever, Mary Day, Helen Correll and Joann Craig.

Those left to cherish Willie’s memory are his wife of 70 years, Katie Lefever; children, Willie Lefever (Susan) of Baton Rouge, Robin DiBernardi (Dino) of Hudson, Karen Davis (Andy) of Clemmons, Terri Wright (Michael) of Hudson; grandchildren, Dino DiBernardi (Jennifer) of Hudson, Adrianna DiBernardi Mansolino (Tony) of Nashville, Lindsay Lefever Guercio (Justin) of Baton Rouge, William Lefever II of Baton Rouge, Dominic DiBernardi (Ashley) of Wilmington, Emily Davis Ruebel (Monte) of Pfafftown, Isaac Tilghman (Kristin) of Hudson, Andrew Tilghman of Hudson, Jordan Davis of Clemmons, Katie Wright Godbey (Brandon) of Hudson; great grandchildren, Kinley DiBernardi, Emma Guercio, Jackson Mansolino, Olivia Guercio, Ross and Beckett DiBernardi, Maddox Mansolino, Nico DiBernardi, Auden Ruebel, Leo Tilghman; siblings, Juanita Walsh “Sis”, Johnny Lefever, Clyde Lefever, Barbara “Bobbie” Eckerd, Joe Lefever, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Willie loved his high school sweetheart and wife of 70 years.  He also loved his family dearly, and above all he loved the Lord.  He enjoyed baseball, football, Nascar, and motorcycling, including trips to Daytona and Sturgis for Bike Week.  Willie was a 50-year Shriner.  Following his minor league baseball career, Willie worked in the furniture industry for 40 years as a color stylist and salesman.

A Celebration of Willie’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Wade Dellinger officiating.
