William Sherrill Walker

Lenoir, NC – Mr. William “Bill” Sherrill Walker, 80, of Lenoir, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born August 11, 1930, Bill was a son of the late Rufus and Nellie Bishop Walker. Bill retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant after working 27 years. He then worked at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for 16 years as an RN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Marie Balderas; two sisters, Ponsie Gentry and Wanda Bebber; and one brother, Joe Walker. Survivors include his wife, Bridgett Walker of Lenoir; a daughter, Eileen “Elee” Cabrera; three sisters, Winefred Holden, Reba Walsh and Patricia Biggerstaff; three grandsons, Brian Christopher Walker, William “Billy” Michael Pelt and Wiliams Balderas; one granddaughter, Amanda Balderas; two great grandchildren, Austin Walker and MaKayla Pelt; and his loving pet, Shotzy. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Interment will follow the service in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
