William Howard Tester

Lenoir, NC-William Howard Tester, 83, of Lenoir, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born March 6, 1927 in Watauga County, William was a son of the late Fonzo and Leona Glenn Tester. William was an Army veteran and had worked in furniture for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jean Tester; and one brother, Dwight Tester. William is survived by a daughter, Wilma Jean Tester of Lenoir; one son and daughter-in-law, William Clinton ?Junior? and Linda Tester of Lenoir; one sister, Dare Green of Vilas, NC; five grandchildren, Chris Thompson, Lisa Reece, Vickie Alvarez, Rebecca Tester, and April Tester; he is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of William?s life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Community Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Waitsel Beard and Reverend Mike Greene. Interment will take place following the service at 3:00 PM in the Green Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Sugar Grove with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be William Hardin, Christian Tester, R.J. Thompson, Johnny Watson, Derrick Crisp, and J.R. Ritter. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory.
