William Mclean Smith

Collettsville, NC- Lenoir, NC ? Mr. William McLean Smith, age 85, passed away August 20, 2010 at Caldwell Hospice. Mr. Smith was born September 6, 1924 to the late William Walton Smith and Ruth McLean Smith. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, a member of the Masons, and a long-time member of Mulvale Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Outen Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his children and their spouses; Mary Lou Huffman and James, Bill Smith, Jr. and Sherry, Peggy Greer and Jim, Bobby Smith and Mischelle, Betty Smith, Michael Smith and Denise; brothers, Charles and Robert Smith; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Smith?s life will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Mulvale Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Smith and Reverend Paul White officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Cuthbertson Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Robert Ward, Brandon Smith, Shawn Hayes, Phillip Killian, and Luke Killian. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Smith, Jim Clark, and Shaun Clark. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 2:00 until 3:00 at Mulvale Baptist Church.
