William Irvin Kiger

William Irvin Kiger, 72, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Amorem in Hudson, NC.

William was born on February 10, 1952, to the late Ransom and Helen Kiger.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Clay Kiger.

Those left to cherish William’s memory are his significant other, Lynn Gilbert; special buddies, Adalynn and Bentley Gilbert; son, William Bradley Kiger (Tabitha); sister, Kay Kiger (Hugh Goforth); nephews, Michael and Kevin Goforth; very special cousin, Linda Adams; close family friend, Junior Poarch; numerous relatives, friends, and past co-workers from Caldwell County EMS.

William never met a stranger.  He had a keen sense of humor and loved to flirt.  William served over 30 years with Caldwell County EMS.  He was a forever “Tinkerer”, he would take cars apart and may or may not put them back together.  William loved to cook, eat, and socialize with friends.

William’s wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest at a place of his choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 2:00 at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir, NC with Junior Poarch officiating.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Amorem Hospice, 526 Pine Mountain Road, Hudson, NC 28638.
