William Emmett Honeycutt

Lenoir, NC- Mr. William Emmett Honeycutt, age 83, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in the Palliative Carecenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born June 12, 1926 in Tazewell County, VA, he was a son of the late Adam S. and Dora Puckett Honeycutt. William was Baptist by faith and a Navy veteran serving in WWII. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a family man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald C. Honeycutt, and Robert S. Honeycutt; and one nephew, Donnie Honeycutt. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Presnell Honeycutt of the home; one daughter and son in law, Bernita and Danny Hackney of Maryville, TN; one son and daughter in law, William and Maxine Honeycutt of Lenoir; two grandsons, David W. Kirby of Maryville, TN, and Darren E. Kirby of Tampa, FL; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Mr. Honeycutt?s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2009 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Steve Walsh and Reverend Giles Widner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2 PM at Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley at 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
