William Reed Fabian

Granite Falls, NC- Mr. William Reed Fabian, age 70, of Granite Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his home. Born May 2, 1941 in Little Washington, PA, William was a son of the late Mike and Katy Fabian. William was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for the Weirton Steel Company and retired after 31 years of service. William enjoyed woodworking, doing puzzles, doing magic tricks, and spending time with his children family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike Fabian, Tim Fabian, Joe Fabian, Steve Fabian and Frank Fabian. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Fabian, a daughter and son in law, Christine and Joey Hatley of Hudson; three sisters, Mary Golobic and Francis Fabian of Albuquerque, NM, and Pauline Gatrell of Weirton, WV; four grandchildren, Nicole Suttles, Julia Hatley, Donna Hatley, and Creg Hatley; one great grandson, Brody Suttles; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of William’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Millholland. Interment will follow the service at the Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
