William David Edmonds

Hudson, NC- William David ?Dave? Edmonds, age 89, of Hudson, NC, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Dave was born August 16, 1920 in Halifax County, VA. He was a son of the late Willie E. and Vera Barber Edmonds. Dave was a Navy veteran who served during WWII. He worked for the Moore?s Superstores for many years as the Vice President of Operations. Dave was Methodist by faith and enjoyed gardening. He will be remembered for his vegetable garden. Dave was the greatest baseball fan. He loved the Atlanta Braves and his favorite player, Chipper Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Elouise Edmonds; a grandson, Jeremy Franklin Edmonds; two brothers, Earl Edmonds and Edgar Edmonds; and two sisters, Grace Rosser and Francis Edmonds. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, William Dwight and Judith Edmonds of Sanford, NC, David Wayne Edmonds of Gainesville, TX, Douglas Nelson and Linda Edmonds of Corpus Christi, TX, and Charles Gregory and Sharon Edmonds of Roanoke, VA.; his grandchildren, Seth Christopher Edmonds, Nicole Edmonds Harris, Candace Shea Edmonds, David Michael Edmonds, Cindy Edmonds Weyandt, Billy Morrel Edmonds, Michael David Edmonds, Mary Kimberly Edmonds, Ryan Synclair Edmonds, and Kenneth Michael Edmonds; two great grandchildren, Dustyann D. Kuuipo and Veronicalee Leilani; his life companion, Ronald Rosenbalm of Hudson; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
