Willam "Bud" Shook

Lenoir – Mr. William “Bud” Edward Shook, Sr., age 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Avery County on May 18, 1933 to the late Percy and Lucy Davis Shook. Mr. Shook was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Duke Power Company after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed building cabinets and wood craft works. Being called PawPaw was one of his life's joys. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Frances Church Shook; and son, William “Bud” Shook, Jr.. Mr. Shook is survived by his son, Randy Shook and wife, Dana; daughter, Patricia Warren and husband, Alan; son, Steven Shook and wife, Beverly; grandchildren, William E. “B.J.” Shook, III and wife, Roxie; Brandy Mecimore and husband, Scott; Tyler Warren; Jessica Warren; Travis Shook and wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Kayla Kendall, Everly, Alexia and Blake, along with many special nieces and nephews. A graveside service celebrating Mr. Shook’s life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Gary Shew officiating. Pallbearers will be B.J. Shook, Travis Shook, Tyler Warren, David Church, Mark Shook and Tim Braswell.
