Wilbern Brown On Monday, March 23rd, 2015 our beloved Wilbern P. Brown (Fuzzy) passed peacefully into eternal life with Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Wilbern will be remembered for his quick wit, kind spirit, generosity and his love and devotion to his friends and family. He was a loving and devoted husband and loving father to his two daughters. Wilbern was born December 1, 1923 in Hickory, son of Prater and Virgie Brown.He graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University and served proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir for many years.He loved his church and his Beam Sunday School Classmates. Wilbern is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Margaret (Billie), his two daughters, Cathy Brown of Hickory, NC and Gina Medlin and husband Brandon of Huntersville, NC, his sister Martha Jane Winstead and brother Sterling Brown and his grand dog Mr. Nicholas. Thank you to friends and family who showered us with love and support during his illness. We extend our appreciation to Wilbern’s “other” daughter, Susan Cross Floyd and her husband Bob for their ongoing solace and calm and all the countless things they do to fortify our family. To Margie and Tom Broach, connected to Fuzzy and Billie by a lifelong friendship, we extend our love to you and your family for the comfort you shared with us during this time.Our special thanks to Dr. David Smith, Janice Smith and Dr. Thomas Hinton for inspiring us with their daily prayers. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00AM with a service to follow at 11:00AM in the chapel at the First Baptist Church of Lenoir on Thursday March 26, 2015.The church is located at 304 Main St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645. Gravesite rites will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. in Lenoir (Kirkwood) or the First Baptist Church of Lenoir, NC (Love Fund or Music Fund).
