Granite Falls – Wesley Michael Pope, age 38, of Granite Falls, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.Born December 3, 1975 in Catawba County, Wesley was the son of Michael Terry and Judy Shook Pope of Granite Falls. Wesley was a graduate of South Caldwell High School and graduated from Haywood Technical Community College with a forestry degree.He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Surviving other than his parents is his son, Avin Michael Pope and his mother Jamie Mills; his fiancé and special friend, Allison Hall of North Lakes and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Wesley’s life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Eric Lane officiating.A private burial will be held in the Russell Family Plot as Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
