Wayne Edward Triplett

Lenoir, NC – Mr. Wayne Edward Triplett, age 87, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Lenoir HealthCare Center. Mr. Triplett was born in Wilkes County on September 2, 1923 to the late Rieves and Mamie Price Triplett. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Triplett. After retirement, Mr. Triplett worked at Lenoir Golf Course for many years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Elwood and Louie Triplett and his sister, Ruby Winkler. Other than his wife he is survived by his son, Wayne Keith Triplett of Hickory; daughters, Donna (Honey) Whisenant of Dale City, VA  and Beverly (Sis) Guthrie of Lenoir; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Triplett’s life will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 3:00 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Elder James Pate officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brett Fansler, Raul Flores, Philip Glasco, Roy Whisenant, Tony Brakefield, and Dennis Triplett. Honorary pallbearers will be David Keller and Todd Guthrie. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 2:00 until 3:00 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
