Wayne Pipes

Marshall Wayne Pipes, age 89, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Caldwell County to the late Ira Collis Pipes and Beatrice Woodward Pipes.

He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and spent his work career in the furniture industry and Caldwell County EMS. He was an avid gardner, enjoyed logging and riding motorcycles. Wayne had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He always made himself available to help anyone in need. And last but certainly not least, he loved his wife and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Lane Brawley Pipes; sisters, Mary Katherine Barlow and Rachel Evelyn Pipes.

Wayne is survived by his daughters, Darlene Townsend and husband, David; Deena Suddreth and husband, Marc; grandchildren, Kristin Harrison and husband, Brandon; Bradley Suddreth; Steven Suddreth; Lindsey Suddreth; great-grandchildren, Ella Harrison; and Zayla Patterson. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a service to honor Wayne’s life on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Yadkin Baptist Church at 12:00 PM with Reverend Jim Hamby and Reverend Stuart White officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.
