Wayne Murphy

Wayne Murphy, a beloved resident of Caldwell County, NC, passed away on May 15th, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born on February 23rd, 1939, in Yancey County, NC to Lester and Gustie Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Ann Hughes Murphy; daughter, Rita Bentley; sons, Danny Murphy and wife, Colette, Keith Murphy and wife, Michele; grandsons, Dale Murphy and wife, Megan, Dalton Murphy and wife, Marie; great- granddaughter, Maggie Grace; brothers, Willy, Dean, and Kenneth Murphy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Maggie Murphy; brother, Wade Murphy; and sister, Ivylene Murphy.

Wayne worked in the furniture industry and had a passion for farming. He was dedicated to instilling values and morals in his family. In his early years in Caldwell County, he was involved in the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department and Lenoir Rescue Squad.

Wayne will be remembered at a graveside service at White Pines Cemetery in Pigeon Roost, NC on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Danny Murphy officiating.

Arrangements for Wayne Murphy are being handled by Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
