Wayburn Thomas Hamby

Wayburn Hamby Lenoir, NC – Mr. Wayburn Thomas Hamby, age 83 , passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Shaire Center. Mr. Hamby was born in Caldwell County on September 16, 1928 to the late Romie and Hattie Hamby. He was married to Martha Haigler Hamby for 62 years. Mr. Hamby retired from Hammary Furniture after 34 years and then spent time with his family. He enjoyed working in his garden and was a friend to everyone. He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Hamby Kaylor of Lenoir. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Rita Triplett and husband, Scott; special daughter, Martha Jean McLean and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Mackenzie Triplett and Trace Triplett; special grandchildren, Micheal McLean and Karen Johnson; special great-grandchildren Kyle and Daniel Johnson, his brother, William Grady Hamby and wife Joyce of Laurinburg; and a brother-in-law, B.W. Kaylor, Jr. of Lenoir. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. Pallbearers will be: Scott Triplett, Trace Triplett, Mike McLean, Ronnie Kaylor, Billy Hamby, and Charles Carter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
