Warren Philyaw

Warren Edward Philyaw Sr., age 63, of Lenoir died Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 12:14 PM at Frye Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family after a courageous battle from cancer. Born August 29, 1956 in Maryland, Warren was a son of the late David Luther and Martha Etta Barnett Philyaw. One of the things Warren enjoyed most was spending time with all animals especially his fur babies.He will be remembered as a loving father, brother and friend.Warren lived life to the fullest with the assistance of his special friends, Peggy and Andrew Smith and Nancy Trivette, for which his family is extremely grateful.In addition to his parents, Warren was also preceded in death by former wife, Connie Morgan Seaman; three brothers, George Philyaw, Charles Philyaw and Joseph Philyaw. Survivors include his children, Warren Edward Philyaw, Jr., David Luther Philyaw, Samantha Ann Uphold (husband Roger) and Victoria Bowie (husband Ronnie); his grandchildren, Dylan Philyaw, Zachery Philyaw, Roger Uphold, Brooke Uphold, Piper Philyaw, Ronnie Bowie Jr., Tyler Bowie and Rachel Lacey; two brothers, Dennis Leroy Philyaw, Harley Henry Philyaw Sr. (wife Nancy), his sisters, Essie Mae Coffey, Millie Evelyn Bowen (husband Robert), Carolyn Clair Philyaw, Ruth Elizabeth Humphreys (husband Arnold), Dolly Demple Coffey (husband Darroll), Jewel Levirl Hollar; he is also survived by five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Warren’s life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Lenoir Pentecostal Holiness Church.
