Wanda Jean Walker

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Wanda Jean Rucker Sexton Walker, age 72, of Hudson passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Caldwell Hospice in Hudson. Born August 11, 1945 in Roanoke, VA, Wanda was a daughter of the late Henry and Georgiana Wheeler Rucker.She had worked in the furniture business and was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sexton; two sisters, Duckie Johnson and Donna Rucker; and a brother, Jimmie Rucker. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Barnett of Hudson and Debra Reid (husband Jeffrey) of Granite Falls; two sisters, Joyce Stewart (husband Clester) and Mona Hall (husband Luther); a brother, Henry Rucker (wife Glenda); four grandchildren, Alicia Hobbs (husband Chris), Hannah Barnett, Heather Reid and Charles Reid; three great grandchildren, Kenley Hobbs, Harrison Hobbs and Adrien Reid; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Wanda’s life will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir with Pastor Henry Rucker officiating.
