Wanda Mclean Pearson

Sawmills, NC- Mrs. Wanda McLean Pearson, 68, joined her husband, James Earl Pearson in their Heavenly home, on January 6, 2012. Wanda passed peacefully,  surrounded by those she loved. Wanda was born in Caldwell County on December 16, 1943 to Leroy and Daisy McLean. She had 8 siblings, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Mrs. Pearson was a hairdresser for 15 years. She and her husband James owned Klassy Kurl Beauty Salon in Granite Falls, NC. She was a Charter Member of Journey’s End Baptist Church. She volunteered for the Women’s Shelter of Caldwell County and other organizations. She was predeceased by 2 infant children, Cherie’ Patrice Helton and Wesley Vance Helton, and I grandchild, Tamara Danielle’ Messer. She has two sisters who currently reside in Lenoir, Mary Crisp and Barbara Beard. Wanda has 5 children, Diana Messer and husband, Danny; Tommy Helton and wife, JoAnn; Christopher Helton and wife, Cyndi; Timothy Mays; and Pamela Mercer and husband, Charles; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special, life-long friend, Jeanetta Shoun. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Tony Burchette and Joel Bixler officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Greg Gentry, Tim Nelson, Jamie Beard, Dwayne Jones , Gary Beard, Greg Kirby, and Joe Reece. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to: Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
