Lenoir – Mrs. Wanda Lou Greene, age 79, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir.Born March 29, 1935 in Watauga County, Mrs. Greene was a daughter of the late Roscoe D. and Hazel Church Greene and wife of the late Rayvon Greene who passed away in 2003. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Felix Greene and three brothers, Van, Hayes and Louis Greene. Mrs. Greene was a faithful member of Mount Paran Baptist Church in the Stony Fork Community of Watauga County.She was known as a hard worker having owned and operated the Crossroads Restaurant in Lenoir from 1981 until 2005. She is survived by her two sons, Danny and Roger Greene, both of Lenoir; her siblings, Reverend Jimmy Greene and wife Nelda; Bill Greene and wife Charlotte; Buford Greene and wife Dot; Stella Gragg and husband Gene; Anna Robbins and husband Bill; Nina Reed and husband Glen; Betty Curtis and husband Clarence; Judy Braswell and husband Sam; Phyllis Hamby and husband Danny; Martha Smith and husband Homer; Patsy Greene and husband Bill; Jeffery Greene and wife Josie; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Greene’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Brian Gragg officiating.A Graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday at 4:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Watauga County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir.
