Virginia Clara Church Pitts

Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Virginia Clara Church Pitts, age 59, of Lenoir, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born August 9, 1952 in Watauga County, she was the daughter of the late Bynum and Virginia McLean Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Kenneth Church. Mrs. Pitts was a member of Oxford Baptist Church and worked for Harmony Home Care. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Pitts; 2 sons, Wayne Pitts and wife Kimberly, Glen Pitts and wife Kathy, daughter, Betty Pitts Willis and husband Ronnie; brother, Roger Church and wife Sheri, sister Anita Church Coffey and husband Duie; and 6 grandchildren, Jonathon Pitts, Amber Pitts, Ashley Willis, Amanda Willis, Forrest Pitts and Walker Pitts. A celebration of Mrs. Pitts’ life will be held 3:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2011 at Oxford Baptist Church with Pastor Neal Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church.
