Violet Moore

Violet Moore, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Violet was born January 15, 1931, to the late Lee and Ethel Earp.

In addition to her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; son, Dean and son-in-law, Johnny Deal.

Those left to cherish Violet’s memory are her children, Etheleen Phillips (Robert), Lois Fox (James), Phyllis Deal, Dennis Moore (Myra), Judy Greene (Ron), Dale Moore (Penny); sister-in-law, Betty Greene; brother-in-law, Willard Greene, and numerous grandchildren.

Mom was a wise person; a well-respected woman whose Godly life inspires everyone she encountered. She prayed for her seven children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and friends every day.

Mom worked hard all her life – cooking for her siblings, her sickly mother and continued to cook for her family, church, and community. One of mom’s specialty food was fried apple pies which Dad would deliver to shut-ins within their church congregation. Mom’s giftedness of cooking, praying and caring for others was always her ministry as unto the Lord.

Mom enjoyed working in her beautiful flowers formerly at the cabin and to this day at the house. Her flowers would show up in the strangest places –in boots, stumps or around plows.

We praise God for the mother that He gave to us. She was the best mom ever!

To honor Violet’s memory, the family suggests, her kindness be paid forward by providing a meal, a kind word, or a fried apple pie to your friends, family and neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at North Catawba Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a service following with Reverend John Barnhardt and Pastor David Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Reverend Dr. Ron Greene officiating.
