Mrs. Violet Harmon of Lenoir passed from death to life Wednesday morning the 25th day of February 2015. She was born July 5th, 1939, to Bernice and Leonard Hood. Mrs. Harmon suffered from a lung disease and cancer for the past several years. She was known to those around her as “Miss Violet”, a nice lady who would give to anyone in need. She was kind hearted and had a great love for Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed having friends and family gathered around the kitchen table to share a kind word and a cup of coffee. She trusted Christ as her savior and tried to show his love to everyone around her. Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her son, Steven Grady Harmon, and her husband, Charles Elijah Harmon, her parents, Brothers, Bobby and Jimmy Hood. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Stewart and Lori Harmon, her daughter, Linda Wright, Tim Wright, Grandsons Stephen Wright,Matthew and wife Ashley Wright, granddaughter, Christy McMahan of South Carolina, five great-grandchildren, Haley McMahan of South Carolina Aidon Wright, of Kentucky, Leah, Baylee Faith, and Brentley Wright all of Lenoir. A Sister, Mildred Smith of Morganton.Brothers, Daniel and wife Marylee Hood, Joe Hood, and Alfred and wife Cathy Hood all of Lenoir. Mrs. Harmon is also survived by Shelia Michael, her friend and care giver. A number of nieces and nephews and her favorite dog “Babe”. One of Mrs. Harmon’s favorite scripture verses was Psalms 118:24 which reads, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”Mrs. Harmon, never had a lot of material things in this earthly life, today she truly is rejoicing in Heaven! A celebration of Mrs. Harmon’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.Burial will immediately follow.
