Mrs. Verneice Billings Edmisten, age 95, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born January 10, 1925 in Wilkes County, Verneice was the daughter of the late James and Pearlie Walker Billings.She was a member of the Word Truth Ministries.Verneice had worked many years for Ken Williams at Williams Produce Supermarket.Verneice was outspoken and loved by all her family and friends.She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Edmisten; a son, Charles Douglas King; a sister, Verdie Billings; and three brothers, Wade Billings, Dwight Billings and Arnold Billings. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Foster (husband James) and Adele Triplett (husband Bruce); a son, Ellis King, Jr. (wife Pat); she is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Verneice’s life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bill Bentley officiating.Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
