Boomer, NC- Mr. Vaughan Ventry Walsh, age 94, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Westwood Hills Nursing Center. Born June 18, 1921 in Wilkes County, he was a son of the late Bud and Beulah Eller Walsh. He was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a United States Army Veteran. After he completed his time in the military he went to barber school and then decided to buy a sawmill. He found his calling in life and that’s where he worked until his mid seventies. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Cleatus Walsh, Van Walsh, Ruth Walsh, Margret Walker, Alvesta Triplett and V. D. Walsh; and daughter-in-law Evelyn DeVinny Walsh. He is survived by his loving wife Lyda Poole Walsh of more than 60 years, one son Kenneth Walsh and one grandson Curtis Walsh. A celebration of Mr. Walsh’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Little Rock Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Livingston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 PM prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Randy Walsh, Stan Walsh, Jeffery Bolick, Eddie Bolick, Dwight Adams, Jerry Faw, Neal Edmiston, Wayne Little.
