Vaughn D. Mccall

Lenoir – Mr. Vaughn Duell McCall, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Caldwell County on October 27, 1935 to the late Marion Lavaughn McCall and Pansy Mabe McCall. He was married to Lois Oliver McCall for 58 years. Mr. McCall was an active member of Littlejohn United Methodist Church and the Gamewell Ruritan Club. He spent many years working in the furniture industry and retired from Bernhardt Furniture Industries. Mr. McCall loved to fish and garden and he could often be found working on small engines and tractors or carving canes and crosses that he gave away. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Clyde M. Clay and brothers, Marion, Elbert and Archie McCall. Other than his wife Lois, he is survived by his son, Philip McCall and wife, Felicia; son, Greg McCall; sister, Pauline Beaman; and brothers, Troy and Danny McCall; grandchildren, Bryan C. McCall; Dustin R. McCall; T.J. McCall; and Megan E. McCall; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. McCall’s life will be held at Littljohn United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Allen Boliek officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Van Griffith, Gerald Sprinkle, Shane Ellison, Bradley McCall, Harold McCall and Bryan McCall. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that memorials be sent to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
