Vaughn H. Carroll

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Vaughn H. Carroll, age 78, passed away on Saturday morning, August 2, 2008 at the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Born on January 20, 1930 in Watauga County. He was a son of the late, Virgil and Onnie Carroll. Mr. Carroll was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was Baptist by faith and had retired after working many years with the Crestline Furniture Company in Valdese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Pauline Carroll, Violet Carroll Hayes, and Vera Carroll Moretz. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Greer Carroll of Lenoir; Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Vaughn Glenn and Linda Triplett Carroll of Lenoir, and Ronnie Duane Carroll of Morganton; Three brothers, Roy Forrest Carroll of Claremont, NC, Grady Olen Carroll of Catawba, NC, and Stanley Bruce Carroll of Boone, NC; Four sisters, Velma Carroll Anderson of Elkton, Maryland, Marie Carroll Moretz of Churchville, Maryland, Dorothy Carroll Williams of Bel Air, Maryland, and Eva Carroll Keller of Boone; One grandson, Bradley Scott Carroll; One great granddaughter, Chloe Lynn Carroll; A beloved pet, Bootsie; A Sister-in-law, Betty Carroll; A brother-in-law, Mark Greer and his wife, Marie; A very special care giving niece, Brenda Goble; He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A funeral service for Mr. Carroll will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Officiating will be Reverend Doug Woody. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Evans Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
